Discovering a Passion for Japanese Culture Through Anime and Manga

From a young age, I’ve been captivated by anime, beginning in elementary school and expanding to manga in junior high. Gradually, my interest in the Japanese language began to grow. In high school, there was a Japanese language course at my school, and I wanted to improve my Japanese. However, the teaching style was different from what I wanted. This mismatch left me somewhat dissatisfied, hindering my ability to engage with the language as passionately as I had hoped.

However, a turning point came during my sophomore year of college. I had more time at home due to the pandemic and had the opportunity to focus on my Japanese language studies. Initially, I enjoyed Japanese anime and videos with English subtitles, but I eventually only used Japanese subtitles. I felt a great sense of accomplishment and joy in being able to listen and understand Japanese after all the hard work. This shift was challenging but incredibly rewarding.

From Universitas Indonesia to Japan: Leveraging FAST OFFER International

I had always wanted to live in Japan. With a degree in Engineering and Design from Universitas Indonesia, I knew the pathway to turning this dream into reality was through securing a job in Japan. However, the challenge of finding employment abroad seemed daunting until a pivotal conversation changed everything. Luckily, a university friend told me about FAST OFFER International’s Japanese language classes. I trusted that friend’s recommendation because seeing her journey and success firsthand ignited a belief in me that I could achieve the same. Seeing her, I felt that I too could go to Japan the same way, so I took the plunge and registered.

I thought that registering would be key to changing my life because of the generous support I got. The Japanese mentor I was assigned to help with the interviews practiced with me tirelessly until I got used to the job interview.

Thriving in Japanese Job Interviews with FAST OFFER International’s Help

FAST OFFER International helped me fly to Japan for the in-person interview. It was a hectic, fruitful, and amazing trip. Unlike the typical schedule of one interview per day, my itinerary was packed with two interviews daily. Initially, this intense schedule overwhelmed me, and I feared it might impact my performance. Despite my concerns, the outcome exceeded my expectations. I was both surprised and thrilled.

Looking back though, a lot of things led to my success. I went to the interview well-prepared beforehand with a comprehensive collection of potential interview questions that FAST OFFER International had prepared for me, which proved invaluable.

The interview setting itself was daunting. There were three interviewers, and although the atmosphere was friendly, I felt pressured by their stares. I carried on bravely as the questions flew by, I tried to answer them as best I could. Fortunately, my preparation for questions outside my field of expertise paid off. As a result, I was able to pass the interview.

Looking Forward to My Future with a Leading Japanese Automobile Company

After joining the company, I’m looking forward to designing motorcycle lights for the company. Understanding the significant challenges and responsibilities that await, I am proactively enhancing my skills, particularly my proficiency in Japanese, to ensure a smooth transition into this role.

The process of studying Japanese is tough, but it will all be worth it. There’s intense satisfaction and joy when hard work pays off by helping you realize your dreams! It may be hard now, but I hope others will be inspired to continue to do their best! It will all be worth it.
