I graduated in 2024, a year that felt both like an ending and a daunting beginning. Like many engineering students, I was focused on the immediate horizon: campus placements. During my final year, several Japanese companies visited my university. At the time, however, I wasn’t able to participate in those initial rounds. I watched from the sidelines as the prospect of international work fluttered by. While I was disappointed, that moment did something crucial—it planted a seed. It made me realize that Japan wasn’t just a place on a map; it was a destination where I could see my future self.
