How I first got introduced to FAST OFFER International
Finding an overseas job opportunity has always been a big dream for me. That’s why I looked for opportunities to achieve my dream. FAST OFFER International offered me exactly what I was looking for, enabling me to work in Japan as an Indonesian.
In Indonesia, everybody knows that Japan is the dream destination for work and life. A senior, in a different FAST OFFER International Japanese class at Bandung Institute of Technology, told me first about this opportunity. When I got to know the details of the FAST OFFER International program, I got even more interested. They offered an opportunity where I can go to Japan for free! They offered thorough services without charging me any money! I was intrigued. So, I registered for the FAST OFFER international program.
Struggles I faced during my journey with Japanese Job Interviews
I had two interviews before I got my offer at my company. I failed my first interview but from it, I learned about interviewing with a Japanese company. Job interviews in Japan are very different from job interviews in Indonesia. Japanese companies look for specific things from their fresh grad overseas talent. As I learned more, more confident I became. I did my best to present my knowledge and skills to face my interview.
As a preparation for interviews, I reviewed some materials my mentor gave me. First, he asked me to research the company and the Japanese job interview style. So, I searched for the basic things and manners for the interview with Japanese companies. On my own, I practiced introducing myself, presenting specific skills Japanese companies might be looking for, and explaining my project experiences. On top of that, my mentor from FAST OFFER International gave me basic example questions that the interviewer might ask in the interview. I learned from all these resources and guides to overcome the challenges I faced in Japanese job interviews.
Combing all the advice and ideas, I prepared slides for my interview to show Japanese companies my appealing points, and so they could understand my personality and experiences more. There, I connected how my projects represent my skills and interests. It helped me a lot during my interview.
I’m thankful to my FAST OFFER International mentor for supporting me and guiding me through this journey. I couldn’t have landed this overseas job opportunity if not for their help. They were a great influencein helping me reach where I am right now. I was able to overcome those challenges that I thought were difficult, and through all these things. I finally achieved my dream job to work in Japan.
