I’ve been in Japan as a student for nearly six years. I finished my master’s degree and am now working on my doctorate degree. In spite of this, job hunting on my own has been extremely difficult for me as a foreigner with inadequate Japanese skills.
When I first started looking for work, I felt as if I were swimming in a sea with no sense of direction. In fact, all I wanted to do was stay afloat in the waves. There were a few ups and many downs. There were times when I was on the verge of giving up. Still, I continued to believe in God. I did not give up and continued my job quest.
