Recently, AtoJ Hirameki organized two events in Pune. The first was an Open Seminar focused on introducing Japanese language learning and how it can help build careers connected to Japan. The second was Hirameki Night 2, a networking event that brought together students, professionals, and members of the Japanese community in India for an evening of cultural exchange and conversation.

Open Seminar with AtoJ Hirameki: A Hall Full of Curiosity, Questions, and New Possibilities
AtoJ Hirameki hosted an Open Seminar on 13 June 2026 at Ganesh Hall in Pune. More than 200 students, parents, and young graduates participated. The hall was filled with curiosity, excitement, and thoughtful questions. Many came to understand whether learning Japanese could help shape their future. Others wanted to know more about career opportunities in Japan, higher education pathways, and the growing India–Japan connection. The discussions were lively, and it was encouraging to see so many curious minds exploring these possibilities.
“When we first planned the event, we hoped it would spark interest in Japan and the opportunities connected to it. What we didn’t expect was the overwhelming response,” said Swathi Muchukunte, who organized the event. “One of the most rewarding parts of the day was interacting with people who were discovering these opportunities for the first time. Seeing their interest and enthusiasm reminded us why these conversations matter.”
By having the Open Seminar, AtoJ Hirameki hopes to give a clearer picture of what learning Japanese can lead to. Ultimately, the organizers hope to inspire students in India to begin careers connected to Japan.
“What I enjoy most about these sessions is not speaking on stage, but interacting with curious students and supportive parents. Their questions, aspirations, concerns, and dreams remind us why we do what we do,” said Shruti Channagiri, CEO of AtoJ Hirameki.
Hirameki Night #2: An Evening of Connection, Culture, and Conversation
The first Hirameki Night took place in March 2026, bringing together students and professionals interested in Japan-related opportunities and cultural exchange. The event’s excitement and positive response inspired the launch of Hirameki Night 2, which continued to foster meaningful connections.
While events like these are often seen as networking opportunities, Hirameki Night’s purpose goes much deeper. It is a space where people can connect through shared curiosity, learn from one another’s experiences, and build confidence in using Japanese in real-life situations.
This edition featured interactive activities and mini-quizzes centered on Japanese and Indian culture. These fun moments created a relaxed environment where participants could engage naturally and learn something new along the way.
The AtoJ Hirameki community continues to grow. Some Japanese participants traveled nearly two hours after work to join us! Their presence served as a great source of motivation for the AtoJ Hirameki students studying Japanese.
“We hope to hold the next event in September. The venue has reached full capacity, and we’re truly grateful for the overwhelming support. To welcome even more people, we’re planning to move to a larger space,” said Kohei Oguni, the event organizer.
